ALERT: Intimidation, excessive use of force, and criminalization of human rights defenders in the context of the crisis in the UNAH

The objective of this Alert is to call the attention of the international community to the security situation of the human rights defenders Hedme Castro, Tommy Morales, Carlos del Cid, and Ariel Diaz, who were victims of intimidation, excessive use of force, and legal prosecution by state security forces as part of the eviction carried out this past September 8th in the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH).

PBI Honduras Bulletin 04

In this fourth edition of the PBI Honduras Newsletter, we pay special tribute to the celebrated women human rights defenders who left us this year. In addition to the killing of Berta Cáceres, which leaves a huge void in Honduran civil society, the country has suffered the loss of historic women human rights defenders such as Gladys Lanza and Magdalena Morales.
